How to Draw a Pink Ribbon video

"When breast cancer recurs after an initial successful response to a particular hormone therapy, a major challenge is to determine whether the cancer will respond to other forms of targeted endocrine therapies, or whether the next step should be chemotherapy. In his work on PET imaging of breast cancers with collaborators at Washington University, John has developed probe molecules that can show not only the presence and level of estrogen receptors in individual tumors but can also determine whether these receptors have retained the ability to respond to additional endocrine therapies. Such a test of continued hormone responsiveness could enable women to avoid chemotherapy and continue successfully on endocrine therapies. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In John’s current BCRF project, he is using chemical and structural approaches, including X-ray crystallography, to design new antiestrogens to most effectively block estrogen receptor activities in breast cancer, and especially in metastatic breast cancers that have become resistant to currently used endocrine therapies." – Drs. Benita and John Katzenellenbogen

A beautiful client of mine trusted me to transform her scars into artwork. This piece is one that I am proud of.
My client underwent an emergency mastectomy about a year ago to save her life. She was then left with battle scars that transformed her body forever.
Although I was nervous to tackle this project, I wanted to challenge myself and help her feel comfortable in her skin again. I feel it's my duty. All I honestly want is to put art on skin and through that exchange, bring happiness to those around me. This is another level of happiness for me as an artist.
Miranda, your courage, bravery, positive energy and trust with this project is something I will take with me forever. I'm not suggesting that scars aren't beautiful and need to be covered up but in a case like this, I loved being able to help her honour hers in this way.
Thank you for sharing your story with us, Miranda 🙏🏻 @yoga_live_love_sing_

📰 Scientist at @officialuom, Dr. Ahmet Ucar, has been awarded a prestigious fellowship by @breastcancernow to investigate whether targeting two key proteins could stop the disease spreading to other parts of the body.
.
Dr. Ucar said: "Our research could lead to clinical trials of new drugs that could wipe out breast cancer stem cells for patients with the most common form of the disease. This could not only treat the breast tumour, but could also stop the disease returning, potentially preventing thousands of breast cancer deaths each year."
.
When breast cancer spreads – known as metastatic (or secondary) breast cancer – it becomes incurable, and almost all of the 11,500 women that die as a result of breast cancer each year in the UK will have seen their cancer spread.
.
Specialised types of cancer cells, called breast cancer stem cells, are thought to be largely responsible for breast cancer coming back after treatment, both in the breast (recurrence) and around the body (metastasis). These stem cells can evade treatment by lying dormant in other parts of the body – sometimes for years after treatment has ended – before reawakening and forming new tumours. Destroying breast cancer stem cells could therefore be critical in preventing them seeding new tumours.
.
Dr. Ucar, has previously found that two molecules, called P-Rex1 and Rac1b may be critical to the spread of HER2-positive and ER-positive breast cancer – the two most common types of the disease. His team have already found that eliminating P-Rex1 results in the loss of breast cancer stem cells’ ability to form tumours, and cells that lack Rac1b function are unable to grow and invade.
.
With new funding from Breast Cancer Now, Dr. Ucar is carrying out a five-year fellowship project to uncover the key roles these molecules play in normal mammary development, and whether targeting them would have similar effects in breast tumours. Head to breastcancernow.org to read more about this research.

“Hello BCRF followers! Happy Valentine’s Day! We’re Drs. Benita and John Katzenellenbogen, BCRF researchers at the University of Illinois. We share many common professional interests, and we also collaborate personally on the family level. We both greatly enjoy our work on breast cancer and have focused our careers on understanding breast cancer and improving approaches to its prevention and treatment. Benita’s training was in biology and physiology, and John’s in chemistry with interests in the use of chemistry to solve biomedical problems. Thus, we bring complementary perspectives and approaches to our breast cancer research. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ On this special day, we’re thrilled to take over BCRF’s account and share what our life is like as colleagues and as a couple.” – Drs.

Was meint ihr? Hilft das, dass es mehr Anmeldungen gibt? . ➡️ Hier könnt ihr euch anmelden: Bit.ly/anmeldungkurs .

Wir freuen uns auf eure Anmeldungen. ☺️💇‍♀️
