These pics are from Rodmarton Manor....Arts and Crafts Architecture at it’s best in the 🇬🇧 UK...
It’s an important Snowdrop garden too, grown in a totally different way to those at Colesbourne, there are mainly important collections here but in these pics I’ve focused on the vistas that the garden brings in winter rather than Snowdrops.....
I find the front of house really quite austere but so imposing. Had to chop it off a bit for pic as skips in the drive....😁
As a Garden Designer, I love the many clever vistas presented in the main private garden west of the house. A very pleasant Italianate feel with lots of structure from topiary, shrubs, trees and of course Snowdrops all around...
The house is owned by the Biddulph family and some remarkable Snowdrops have arisen here including ‘Margaret Biddulph’, ‘Claude Biddulph’, ‘Rodmarton Regulus’ and ‘Rodmarton Arcturus’ (the last is on my wish list 😜). I didn’t have time to take pics of them all because my headlights on car failed so was worried about getting home after dark but if you’re interested, you can search those Snowdrops out 👍
