Sometimes, things don't always go the way you expect.
And I certainly did not expect to be dragging my 20kg suitcase along a dirt road for miles, in a blistering 34°c heat, sinking with the weight of bags and cameras.
However, the unexpected is often the bits you remember. It's what you look back on and smile about... Or swear never to do again, but in a way you're glad it happened because it gave you a story.
It's how you meet the most interesting of people, or find amazing places you'd have missed otherwise.
Shortly after this photo was taken we were confronted by a stand off, on one side, a large brown stray horse with fierce eyes and on the other, our, not so skippy now, friendly mutt.
Do you know what to do when confronted by an angry looking horse? We don't. So we jumped in the nearest bush leaving our four legged friend to defend for himself.
After about 10 minutes the tension broke off and we made our escape.
This caused us to miss our bus and although having to wait another hour in the scorching heat might ruin other people's days, we were glad, as the next one that finally came had a very talented guitarist who serenaded us in beautiful Spanish all the way to town. Not something you'd see in my town. It was perfect.
Sometimes things don't always go the way you expect, but sometimes that's better.
