[TAROT: CHOOSING A DECK]
Tips for choosing your deck for beginners:
▪️Look for a personal connection.
Choose something that connects with you. Feel its energy. Pick something that you find yourself going back to.
▪️Study the appearance, take a good look at the cards themselves. Can you make interpretations right away? Look at the Major AND Minor arcana. Make sure you can read them clearly. Sometimes the Major Arcana are super detailed while others are minimalistic. Go with your intuition and what calls to you, one will always stand out.
▪️Find out what information is available.
You want something that has tons of information included with it. Decks will come with a little book , the info can be negligible and sometimes that can make it difficult when you’re first learning and trying to decipher meanings. If it’s a traditional tarot deck getting card interpretation is easy, but if it’s an oracle deck, than you want to make sure the individual information for the deck is detailed enough to guide you.
▪️Consider your experience level.
When choosing your deck you want something that is easy to interpret for your level. So like I said above, beginners should find a deck thats very detailed. While more experienced readers could probably use something more minimalistic.
▪️Find a size that fits. I know this sounds strange, but you want to be able to shuffle your cards with ease. They should also feel comfortable to handle. I have some larger decks and cards drop out everywhere. And usually when a card falls out you pay attention, but in some cases it’s just that the cards are to difficult for you to hold, so shit be dropping out left, right and centre, and you’re all like 🤯 #toomanymessages #mixedmessages
▪️Look for quality. You want something that you can use for years. Stay away from flimsy cardboard or cards that can rip easily.
