~ Stop . . . Instead . . . ~
Ever been in a conversation where someone who talks continuously replied 'Nothing' to your 'whats up', and you carried forward the conversation causally?
Ever told a friend "what? Fat? No, stop doing this necessary drama. You're not fat" when they keep ranting about how uncomfortable they feel in their own skin?
Ever asked a friend 'so what are you doing these days', knowing that they've been struggling to do something productive since they've graduated?
If yes, then you, whoever you are . . . STOP! STOP IT!
STOP making your friends/ loved ones feel that their NOTHING doesn't matter to you. Instead ask them how they are, ask them what they did all day, tell them that you miss them or love them.
STOP telling your that friend to stop taking unnecessary tension regarding their looks. Instead make them feel comfortable in their own skin. Tell them they're beautiful, help get rid of whatever is making them doubt their worth.
STOP asking people about their work. Instead ask about their ambitions, their goals, things they would love to do. Tell them it's okay to just breathe. Tell them that not working or studying doesn't make them less worthy.
Remember, it's the little things that matter. Be the support to your loved ones. Not the reason for their self-doubt. Not the reason for their Mental Illness.
