Goal=Grow and shrink at the same time. Lol 😂Só Im not gonna lie. The leaner one gets, the larger you appear on your scale of “swoleness”. But as long as you have sufficient calories, it is still possible to increase muscle size/volume, while burning fat. The slower (Not like molasses!) this transition, the better as you’d hate to sacrifice the muscle you’re trying to keep while you’re burning fat too fast. I don’t believe in drastic weight loss. But I will listen to my body and how it responds to food, training, cardio, and rest. .

Tips👉🏼 When performing this movement you want to make sure and bend over at 90 degrees keeping your back horizontal with the floor. Tuck your elbows up to your sides and keep them stationary throughout the lift. Hinge at your elbows using your triceps to press the weight back behind you, making sure you lock your elbows out at the top squeezing your triceps HARD! Hold this contraction for 1-2 seconds and slowly make your way back to the beginning position, hinging at your elbows to continue placing stress on the targeted muscles even on the way down!

Tuck your elbows back towards your hips to make sure that when you extend them fully at the top of the movement the barbell will reach around your butt and allow you to lock your elbows out completely. If you aren’t set up properly (or have short arms) you will find that attempting to extend your arms out completely will be extremely difficult as your butt will be in the way!

As much as I love squatting heavy with a bar, mixing in different squat variations will help keep your body healthy. The 2-KB front squat is a great exercise to mix in. It’s much harder than it looks. In this video I did a 4 sec eccentric (lowering) and a 1 sec pause at the bottom.

TIPS: Start with KB’s in front of you. Hinge back and grab the KB handles. Then do a 2-KB swing to a clean. This is your starting position. Get a full exhale to set the ribs and pelvis and brace your core. Make sure you have 3 points of contact with your feet (heel, pinky toe and big toe). Screw your feet in the ground and perform a squat. At the bottom position make sure you stay braced and tight!

I say it all the time because I mean it, starting is the hardest part! Honestly I bet I have well over 100 ladies in my DMs right now that have messaged me after seeing an example of my programs and them saying they are ready and excited to start but haven’t. It does make me sad because the longer they wait the harder it is to get your body going! I do think it’s like anything else where YOU have to be ready for a change and not because of someone else. I never go back through and message them asking if they are ready yet because I want them to find it within themselves to want to change! It’s kinda like someone who smokes or has another habit they try to quit, someone telling them to quit won’t do it, only they can when they are ready. Same with working out someone can’t just tell you to do it or else you will fail because YOU need to be ready, and when that time comes I’m here ❤️. I truly love helping people with their fitness journey, I know how much it’s helped my life so seeing what it can do for others is really my passion ❤️ don’t let the time of how long it will take to get you to a goal keep you from doing it because the time will pass anyways ❤️

Instead of reacting and allowing your emotions to get the better of you, take some time to get curious about your triggers and see what lessons are waiting for you.
4. Re-frame your fears.
Fear is a natural part of growth and expansion. Learn to expect it, embrace it, and notice that when it pops up it is most surely a sign you are onto something big. Viewing fear as a positive instead of a negative is powerful and when you realize the thing you fear most is the very thing that will transform you, moving through it isn’t as hard as you once thought.

5. Make daily mindset practice a habit.
Whether it’s reading and writing affirmations or meditating on a daily basis, creating a mindset practice is key to keeping your mind set for success.

Commit and you'll not only achieve faster, but challenges, triggers and struggles will be fewer and far between.

Live for purpose, on purpose. I’m currently swamped in responsibilities. I’ve realized I have a hard time saying no, especially to things that make my soul light up. Howeeeever, I’ve also realized this puts me at risk for burning out irregardless of how resilient I am. We all have our limits and we were never intended to work work work. Rest and nothingness are also beautiful things. So tonight, while I can’t take it ”off" because these papers or programs don’t write themselves, I can make it enjoyable and ensure I do rest and say "no" later on.

One bad meal won’t undue your progress! Enjoyed pretty much the entire hot section of St Patty’s Day food from Whole Foods Sunday & woke up the lowest weight I’ve been since Spring 2016 today. A funny thing happens when you shift your mindset from I can’t have that to I don’t really want that & focus on getting strong, not skinny. Prioritize the treats & fun that are really worth the calories & try not to go overboard. Prioritize weight lifting and building lean muscle over being a cardio queen. And very important 👉🏻 prioritize patience over quick fixes.
We all just want to be happy, healthy, and loved. ❤️
