Cloned a bunch of the veg plants yesterday. We have 3 dif cloning set ups. One that uses aeroponic technology, another that uses an aerator to put oxygen in the water and the traditional propagation station that uses a heat pad, dome and your choice of medium.
With these three set ups I can now take over 132 clones at a time. We are actually looking to focus on genetics heavily and start making trades or donations.
Out of the three types, I have not found a favorite yet. Cloning can be a difficult task and takes a lot of precise care. For starters, I recommend a rooting gel (buy the smallest amount because the shelf life doesnt last and they're pretty expensive) and also sterilize your scissors and razors with isopropyl.
Lastly, you want to make cuts on the tips of the mature fan leaves like you can see in the video. The reason for this is that you are reducing leaf area so that the cutting does not lose too much water from evapo-transpiration. Leaves have 100s of stomata on the underside of the leaves. Water travels thru the plants vascular system, starting at the roots, and is then evaporated into the air from the fan leaves. Instead of taking off the whole fan leaf and stressing the cut, you are decreasing the area but allowing the leaf to still properly photosynthesize😊
