Once the Kapha dosha is dominant in an individual, then it can be balanced through pacifying food items.
Normally, the Kapha balancing foodstuffs calm the dosha after opening up the channels.
But, there are different principles when the person discovers which kind of diet is suitable for his body.
So, let’s dive deep into certain choices that can be included in the diet.
🔶Fruits:
choose something that’s slightly sweet. eat dried fruits but make sure that you consume them in limited quantities. avoid grapes and oranges and the ones which are dense as well as watery. These include coconut, melons, dates, plums, pineapples or bananas. 🔶Vegetables:
go for foodstuffs that are pungent, bitter and astringent. As compared to raw vegetables, cooked vegetables are easier to digest. On the other hand, the summer and the spring season is the perfect time to eat raw vegetables. But, you should reduce the quantity of sweet potatoes, olives, pumpkin, Zucchini, and Parsnips. 🔶Grains:
include them in your diet because they nourish the body. But, when it comes to balancing the Kapha dosha, then keep yourself away from grains that are heavy or dense like wheat, cooked oats, pastas, and breads. 🔶 Nuts and Seeds:
Charole nuts, Almonds, Chia seeds, Flax seeds, Pumpkin seeds and Sunflower seeds are the most favorable options. It’s better to avoid Sesame seeds, Pine nuts, Cashews, Brazil nuts, Macadamia nuts, Tahini, Pecans, Peanuts, Walnuts and Filberts. 🔶 Sweeteners:
You can always avoid them because they aren’t supportive to Kapha. But, as an exception, you can consider honey in small quantities 🔶Oils:
Among the favorable options, you can go for Almond oil, Corn oil, Sunflower oil, Ghee and Flax seed oil.
However, Apricot oil, Avocado oil, Olive oil, Primrose oil, and Soy oil are some of the oils you must avoid.

How to balance kapha in winters:🤧💧
In ayurveda winter is Kapha season. Every season is connected to one body type. ayurveda recognises 6 seasons in the year, so each dosha gets to play during two seasons.

We are now entering the ‘late winter season’. Whenever it is the season of a certain type, this dosha gets out of balance more easily. So in winter it is Kapha that starts accumulating and will easily get aggravated once spring comes. Kapha is grounded, steady, solid, … and when out of balance it becomes lazy, stubborn and unmoving. 🔶To balance Kapha, you can: 👉get up early and move your body (even if you don’t want to)
👉change one of your routines
drink a glass of warm water before meals
👉eat in moderation
👉eat a balanced diet. 🔶To balance our Kapha dosha we need to: 👉eat less of the foods that are Kapha producing. Kapha aggravating foods are sweet, salty and sour in nature.
👉eat more of the foods that are Vata and Pitta producing (the two other doshas or body types).
👉Kapha balancing foods are pungent, bitter and astringent.

Part if difficulty in discussing the overweight problem liesin it's definition. The word 'overweight' has a euphemistic ring, but it's essentially nothing more than a delicate phrase for being 'fat'.
Overweight is certainly more than 'a little plump' or 'well-covered'.
A person is overweight if he is significantly heavier than he should be compared with the ideal weight for his height and frame.

Tridosha-Porridge mit Banane und Kokosraspeln
Bei mir gibt’s fast jeden Tag eine Porridge-Variation. Tut mir gut, ist leicht verdaulich und gibt ‘ne Menge Energie. Außerdem liebt mein Magen gekochtes, warmes und breiiges Essen Wenn es dann auch noch gut gewürzt ist: perfekt. Diesmal hab ich es mit einer selbstgemachten Tridosha-Gewürzmischung für Süßspeisen probiert, nach einem Rezept von Irene Rhyner, einer bekannten Ayurveda-Therapeutin und –Köchin. Tridosha heißt: alle Doshas ausgleichend, also für alle geeignet - das macht es zu einem super Gewürzmix für die ganze Familie 🙏🏻 Dank Banane- und Kokosraspeln bekommt der Porridge noch einen kleinen Asia-Touch – es wird vermutet, dass beide Früchte ihren Ursprung in Indonesien haben. Everyday is porridge day - nearly ☺️ I have it in all kinds of variations because it makes me feel good, it’s easy to digest and it gives me, depending on the cereal, a lot or a hell of a lot of energy. My tummy loves warm, cooked and spicy food - if it’s spices that are good for me. This porridge is made with a „good for eveybody“-tridosha-spice mix for sweet food. Self made after a recipe of Irene Rhyner, a well known Ayurveda therapist and cook. Sweet Bananas and coconut gives it a little asian touch - both are originally from Indonesia. A good reason to include it in my travel plans. but my next one goes to South Africa - next Friday to be precise 😍 have a lovely Sunday!

- Canela 👩🏽‍🍳 Preparación:
Procesar la avena junto a la chía y el azúcar. Calentar una sartén. Verter una cucharadita de
ghee y luego un cucharón de la mezcla de crepe. Dejar a fuego suave y dar vuelta. Repetir
hasta tener todos los creppes listos 😋Salen 5-6 creppes. •
Rallar o procesar la fruta de estación. Lo ideal es elegirla según el dosha que se quiere
equilibrar (ejemplo, bananas para Vata, manzanas o mango para Pitta, peras para Kapha).
Calentar en una ollita pequeña junto a una pizca de canela.

Rellenar el creppe y servir.

This was the basic hummus I used yesterday on the Kapha small plate flatbread. All constitutions could eat this, black beans are particularly good for Kaphas due to astringent taste.
1 can black beans, juice 1 lemon, 1/4 cup tahini, 1/4 cup and 1 tbs olive oil, 1 garlic clove, pinch of salt.

There are seven types of prakriti according to ayurveda:

6. Physical working capacity less, resistance to disease usually poor
7. Prefers warm or hot food and climate.
8. Scanty perspiration, variable thirst
9. Tendency for constipation
10. Light sleep with many dreams
11. Prone to anxiety, worry and depression, unpredictable nature. 👉PITTA​
1. Medium body frame
2. Skin delicate, reddish complexion, warm to touch
3. Good/excessive appetite
4. Feels warm/hot sensation
5. Prefers cold food and climate, intolerance to hot food and climate
6. Tendency for loose motion
7. Excessive thirst and perspiration
8. Bright eyes, reddish sclera, yellow iris, sharp penetrating vision
9. Hair soft, premature graying, baldness
10. Intelligent, sharp memory, hot tempered, brave, jealous, aggressive, commanding nature. 👉KAPHA
1. Large, board body frame, tendency to gain weight
2. Skin thick, soft, smooth, firm, glossy, fair complexion
3. Good stamina but slow in physical activities
4. Deep and pleasant voice

Ayurveda defines health as a state of physical, psychological, social and spiritual well being and is based on the theory of Panchamahabhoota (the five basic elements – Space, Air, Fire, Water and Earth) and Tridoshas (three biological humors – Vata, Pitta and Kapha) which are present in each and every cell of the body along with mind and spirit. The equilibrium of doshas is called health and imbalance (Vikriti) is called disease (Ashtanga Hridaya, The classical text of Ayurveda). Together these three doshas determine the physiological balance and constitution of the individual which is called as Prakriti in Ayurveda. Every person has all three doshas (physical humors – vata, pitta, kapha) and trigunas (psychological qualities - Satwa, Rajas, Tamas) in different proportions.
To summarize, Prakriti, thus refers to genetically determined physical and mental constitution of an individual. Every person has his/her own unique constitution which determines the biological functions, response to environmental factors, drugs and also susceptibility to diseases making it one of the earliest known concepts of preventive and personalized medicine. The knowledge of prakriti and the ability to subgroup individuals based on their predominant prakriti, in Ayurveda system of health care, thus, is one of its important and unique specialties and essential tools. This not only helps to understand the mental and physical nature of a person in health but also to know the susceptibility to diseases which assists in promotion of health, prevention and cure of diseases.
It may also be mentioned that Ayurveda system primarily aims at treating the cause of the disease (and not just the symptoms) by identifying the imbalance of the Tridoshas (Vimana Sthana 8, Charaka Samhita, the classical text).

I often find myself limited while choosing things or people in my life because it makes me emotionally attached easily and then its hurtful to let go, i extremely resist , neglect all signs that it no more healthy and need to get out of it.

Holding all the emotions inside me affects my mental health badly.

From the last year, i started practicing meditation ,yoga and emotional deculttering.
After a practice i feel lighter and clearer than i ever did before.
I am still learning to allow myself to let go my past emotions, relationships, grunges.
I'm working to be more open to healthier relationships and work.
I still go back to that phase sometimes, human mind you know!! but i come back with more clearer thoughts. 😊

Let's look at some #kapha traits-
🌱Kapha represents the elements of Earth & water
🌱They are well built, calm, loving, loyal, have great skin & hair, possess great stamina
🌱When out of balance, they can become lethargic, over eaters, obese, suffer from respiratory problems and resistant to change
🌱Just like when water doesn't flow smoothly through the earth it can become like sludge. Similarly, the Kapha can display stagnation when out of balance. This is the time when the Tamas is very high.

👉As discussed in the previous posts, when we look at correcting the imbalance and stay in tune with our Prakruti, we naturally start to increase the Sattvic guna in us.
.
Possible ways to do so-
🔹 Stimulating Asana practice, like Ashtanga Vinyasa, inversions, backbends 🔹Kriyas like Kapalbhati, Uddiana Bandha and Agnisara 🔹Eat warm foods & stimulants like ginger, black pepper, cinnamon
🔹 Avoid over sleeping or afternoon naps, wake up early
🔹 Declutter your wardrobe to deal with held up emotions

👉The Kapha naturally has very Sattvic qualities when in balance. To keep this up, they should stay lively, happy and keep moving🤸‍♀️

Para estos días inestables 🌦 y con temperatura un poco más baja, les comparto esta receta: .
• Zanahorias a la canela con pasas y dátiles 🌴 🥕 • .
- 750 g de zanahorias, cortadas en bastones - 4 cdas de ghee - 3 ó 4 cdas de coco rallado - 50 g de pasas de uva - 50 g de dátiles picados - 2 cdas de azúcar mascabo - 1 ½ cdita de canela - sal y pimienta a gusto
Preparación 👨🏼‍🍳👩🏽‍🍳
Pon las zanahorias al vapor hasta que estén blandas.
Calienta el ghee en una sartén, agrega el coco rallado y dora un poco.
Mezcla las zanahorias con el coco.
Espolvorea con azúcar y canela en la parte superior y dora ligeramente las zanahorias.
Añadir las pasas y dátiles, mezclar muy bien todo y añadir sal y pimienta al gusto. .
