I’m often asked “is there a quick way to learn interior decor” well the answer is pretty straight forward really -NO and sorry 😐 you will need to either enrol on a college course or if you have a space you’d like to refresh and learn a few of the basics at the same time come along to an afternoon taster workshop here at FLOCK or for a deeper understanding you may enrol on our 5 week course 😊 There are however a few insider tricks you can carry out which are really simple to do and can elevate an ordinary space into something quite fab in no time at all, here are a few suggestions:
1️⃣Max out on your light fittings in every room, even the kitchen 💡 and by that I mean make sure you use all three types of luminaire in each room: Ambient, Task and Accent.
2️⃣Pile on the cushions and throws in your bedroom and living areas as they create a luxurious ambience.
3️⃣Add timber somewhere as it provides comfort to a scheme.
4️⃣ Include display vignettes here and there (as suggested in an earlier post) as they afford an element of curious.
5️⃣ Include candles, scent, real or faux flowers, rugs and books and any other curiosity’s that you love💗
6️⃣Invest in any type of oversized statement piece and don’t worry if your room is small- any size room will benefit from a statement piece of furniture or artwork.
7️⃣ Furnish your kitchen- by that I mean introduce artwork, a comfort seating area, (if space allows) and accessories.
8️⃣Turn your bathroom into a sanctuary (have a read of my previous post) on how to do this.
And there you go!
These are just a few of many insider tips, I will be doing an afternoon taster on styling your home very shortly so keep following....
Now go grab your props and get styling, and if you need any help along the way just message me.😊 or even better share a pic. I’d love 💕 to see what you’re doing.😊 #tuesday #interiordesign #tip #learn #learndesign #interiordesigncourse
